''Wicked Flying Monkeys'' ((スペイン語:Guardianes de Oz)) is a 2015 Mexican-Indian 3D computer animated adventure fantasy film, directed by Alberto Mar〔 and executive produced by Jorge Gutierrez. Frank Baum, it features an original story and new characters,〔()〕 and was released theatrically on 10 April 2015 in Mexico.〔〔(Ánima Estudios - "Les presentamos el trailer de 'Guardianes de Oz'..." - Facebook )〕 ''Variety'' has reported that Lionsgate's Grindstone Entertainment has acquired North American rights to the film and may receive a direct-to-video release sometime in the future. ==Plot== After the Wicked Witch of the West is melted in water and Dorothy Gale sent back to her world. Glenda decides to revive the Wicked Witch and remove her powers putting them in a magic broom, giving the friends of Dorothy, Tin Woodman, Cowardly Lion, and Scarecrow the work of protect it. Evilene, the Wicked Witch, conspire with her winged monkey to retrieve her broom, however a little and friendly monkey called Ozzy fails to open the gate of the castle and a battle ensures between the flying monkeys and the 'Bums of Oz', Evilene retrieves her broom and spells the Champions of Oz moving them out of the castle. Then punishes Ozzy´s father transforming him into a chicken, situation that makes Ozzy angry and he steals the broom from Evilene running away from the place. Decided to help his father, Ozzy reaches Glenda for help just to find she was paralized by accidentally drinking a magic potion created by her nephew Gabby, who is unable to create an antidote due to vital ingredient based on wood. Gabby decides to join him in the quest to find the Champions of Oz while being pursued by the other Flying Monkeys. They soon find Cowardly Lion that went berserk due to the spell and with some effort they guide him to the north town, where they find the Tin Woodman extremely depressed by the spell. A fight begin between the Lion who destroy Tin Woodman, but he is stopped by Ozzy who accidentally hits him with the groom turning him back to normal. Ozzy, Gaby and Cowardly Lion takes Tin´s parts to the Oz´s Library where an obsessed Scarecrow is reading several books in an effort to become more intelligent. Soon he repairs Tin when is offered as a clue to solve. However the group is attacked by the flying monkeys, in the chaos, Ozzy cures Tin and Scarecrow from his spell condition but they are unable to save Gabby from being kidnapped by the Flying Monkeys. The group arrives to the Emerald City where the Wicked Witch sends an ultimatum to Ozzy to give the broom as soon as possible. The Guardians of Oz challenges the Witch but they are quickly defeated. Ozzy stands for himself and he decides to break the broom in order to remove Evilene powers for good, also he tells the rest of the winged monkeys that they obey Evilene due to their dumb and cowardly attitude. They rebel against Evilene who discovers there are some power left behind in the broom and tries to defeat Ozzy who escapes with a part of the broom. A persecution is done through the streets of Emerald City until they crash in the fountain dedicated to Dorothy Gale where the witch is melted for good.
